EIMERIA SPECIES ~ EIMERIA IN SELECTED HOSTS

A SIMPLE IDENTIFICATION TO THE OOCYSTS
COMMON TO GREY KANGAROOS

EIMERIA SPECIES

1]  Gungahlinensis A very small oocyst spherical sub spherical. [round] easy to miss under the microscope.
2]  Macropodis Very small irregular shape often flat on one side . pointed one end. ovoid ellipsoid or cylindroid.
3]  Marsupailium Very small more regular shape and size than Macropodis subsperical ellipsoidal or ovoid.
4]  Yathongensis Constantly ovoid.  [larger]
5]  Toganmainensis Bluntly ovoid to slightly ellipsoidal occasionally slightly flattened one side.
6]  Wilcanniensis Approximately ellipsoidal slightly pointed one end or slightly ovoid.
7]  Hestermani Ovoid.  [I have not seen this oocyst]
